Your specialist pension adviser
Your specialist pension adviser will telephone you at an agreed time so that they can gather the relevant information about your personal and financial circumstances. They will also gather information about your pension to calculate comparisons:
- What you could receive from your old company scheme at your normal retirement date with what you could get if you transfer out of the scheme
- What you could get now directly from the scheme with what you would get if you transfer
- What you would get if you waited until your normal retirement age
Of course, it is important to consider if you will have enough to live on once you retire if you take cash and/or income from your scheme early. Pension release is only suitable for a limited number of people and circumstances, which is why specialist advice is highly recommended.
Your adviser will also consider how the other benefits your scheme may provide would be affected. These include:
- What your family/estate would receive should you die
- If any ill health pension provisions are offered
- If you take an income now, will this alter your tax position?
- If you are currently receiving any state benefits will they be affected?
Explaining the options and recommendation to you
Your pension adviser will send you a written report confirming, in plain English, their recommendation of which option, in their opinion, is best for you.
This should provide you with all the information you need to make an informed decision, but if you have any further questions you need answering, then your adviser is always available to you.
Taking your pension benefits early is likely to reduce your income at retirement. Therefore, pension release is only suitable for a limited number of people and circumstances.
This is why specialist advice is highly recommended before you consider unlocking your pension.
If you decide to proceed
We will arrange all the necessary paperwork and ensure that you receive your tax free cash sum and/or income with minimum delay.
What happens if I decide not to proceed?
You are under no obligation to proceed with Pension Release at any time. If you decide, or indeed we recommend that you should not proceed with Pension Release, then there are absolutely NO fees or costs payable at all.
Releasing your pension benefits early could reduce your income at retirement and therefore is only suitable for a limited number of people and circumstances. We specialise in pension release and only deal with a selected number of product providers.
